The Sabbath and the beasts of Revelation

Is the Sabbath important?
According to scripture it is. It is the 4th Commandment.
"Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy."
"It is a sign between Me and the Israelites forever; for in six days YHWH made the heavens and the earth, but on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.'"
"For six days work may be done, but the seventh day is to be a Sabbath of complete rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; wherever you live, it is a Sabbath to YHWH."
"Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as YHWH your ELOHIM has commanded you."
"Keep My Sabbaths holy, and they will be a sign between us, so that you may know that I am YHWH your ELOHIM."
"Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people."
Since the exhortation in the verse above is so severe we need to ask the question,
Did the really Sabbath change?
Before coming to the truth of YAHUAH’s forever law, my family and I were involved in our local church and I asked this question.
I was given the standard answer that most people are given, but no one and I do mean no one was ever able to produce a single scripture that gives anyone permission to transfer Sabbath to Sunday.
One of the reasons for the transfer was explained to me like this, “Jesus was resurrected on a Sunday so we now observe Sunday.”
When I pressed for a scriptural allowance on the change I was pointed to another assumption rather than a scripture that made this transfer.
This assumption was as follows; “In Acts 20:7 Paul meets on the first day of the week to preach and break bread with the brethren.” Since the early church behaved this way, we do.
But why? This may have seemed like an answer to some, but it is not, we must read scripture in context. We must ask the question, why was Paul meeting on the first day of the week in Acts 20:7?
"And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight."
One cannot rightly assert that Paul was keeping a regular Sunday sabbath just because he was, in this case, preaching and breaking bread the day before he planned to depart. In just verses before we see Paul keeping the Feast of Unleavened Bread. We see many examples of Paul, his companions and the disciples keeping the feast as well as Sabbath. Why then should we assume that Paul decides to break YAHUAH’s command to keep the Sabbath? In the very same Book of Acts that is being “verse plucked” to assert that Paul kept Sabbath on the first day of the week (Sunday) you can find examples of Paul and his brethren keeping the Sabbath of YAH. If you take a few minutes to read the verses below we see Paul and his companions Keeping the Sabbath as they were accustomed to keeping it, meaning they were keeping the Sabbath according to the Law of YAH.
Acts 13:14, 27, 42–44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; and 18:4. Acts 13:42–44
Paul is rather consistently accused of not keeping the Law of YAH and for teaching others to do the same. I want to spend a few moments talking with you about Paul’s defense to this accusation.
Acts 24:14
Paul Answered…....“But I confess this to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I serve the ELOHIM of our fathers, believing all things throughout the Law and that have been written in the Prophets.”
It is unfortunate that Paul is used by teachers teaching “modern church theology” to teach that the Law of YAH is done away with. We are warned in Scripture that Paul’s letters would be twisted and that some men would err into lawlessness due to the twisting of Paul’s words.
Consider these verses
2 Peter 3:14-17
"Therefore, beloved, as you anticipate these things, make every effort to be found at peace—spotless and blameless in His sight. Consider also that YHWH’s patience brings salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom YAH gave him. He writes this way in all his letters, speaking in them about such matters. Some parts of his letters are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. Therefore, beloved, since you already know these things, be on your guard so that you will not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure standing. "
Consider Stephen’s execution
At the arrest of Stephen in Acts 6:11-14 we will see that false witnesses were brought in to accuse Stephen of breaking the LAW of YAH.
Acts 6:11-14
"Then they secretly persuaded some men to say, men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against YHWH. And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council, And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law: For we have heard him say, that this YAHUSHA of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us."
If Stephen was not keeping the Law of YAHUAH including all that Moses wrote concerning the law, then why would scribes and Pharisees need to produce false witnesses?
To me, this answer is simple; they needed false witnesses because Stephen was in fact keeping the Law of YAH.
Within the treasury of scripture you can also find Messiah YAHUSHA keeping the Sabbath. So why do believers in Messiah (Christians) observe Sunday as the Sabbath?
Constantine and the first Sunday Law
At the time of Roman "Empire-wide persecutions" believers in Messiah YAHUSHA were hunted down, tortured, and, for sport, often used for entertainment in the Colosseum. The most widespread “official“ persecution was carried out by Diocletian.
During the Great Persecution (A.D. 303–311), the emperor ordered Christian buildings and the homes of Christians torn down and their sacred books collected and burned. Christians were arrested, tortured, mutilated, burned, starved, and condemned to gladiatorial contests to amuse spectators. Bomgardner, D. L. The Story of the Roman Amphitheatre. New York: Routledge, 2000. p. 142.
Constantine became the Western emperor in A.D. 312 and the sole Roman emperor in A.D. 324. Constantine was a Sun Worshiper who claimed to be a Christian convert later in his life. History has attributed him with helping to end Christian persecution. However; Constantine is responsible for instituting the first Sunday Law on March 7, A.D. 321
“On the venerable Day of the Sun let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed.” (Codex Justinianus 3.12.3, trans. Philip Schaff, History of the Christian Church, 5th ed. (New York, 1902), 3:380, note 1.)
Although Constantine claimed to convert to “Christianity”, One may ask the question: did he really “convert” or did he simply aid in mixing pagan “sun worship” and the Truth of YAH’s Word?
Constantine’s Sunday law was officially confirmed by the Roman Papacy.
The Council of Laodicea in A.D. 364 decreed, “Christians shall not Judaize and be idle on Saturday but shall work on that day; but the Lord’s day they shall especially honour, and, as being Christians, shall, if possible, do no work on that day. If, however, they are found Judaizing, they shall be shut out from Christ” (Strand, op. cit., citing Charles J. Hefele, A History of the Councils of the Church, 2 [Edinburgh, 1876] 316).
Cardinal Gibbons, in Faith of Our Fathers, 92nd ed., p. 89, freely admits, “You may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we [the Catholic Church] never sanctify.”

Testing the teaching of men according to the Word of the Living Elohim is an absolute necessity.
The world blindly follows after the teaching of men, but believers should boldly stand on the Truth of YAH’s Word.
If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for YHWH your Elohim proveth you, to know whether ye love YHWH your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul. Ye shall walk after YHWH your Elohim, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
Today, many believers in Messiah are running “full steam ahead” into believing and practicing the commandments and precepts of men. But we must believe YAH rather than men. We must be willing to ask the hard questions.
It is important to KNOW the reasons that we believe. Do you believe something just because it is a tradition, or just because it is something you were told. We have inherited so many lies, We must Test the things that we believe according to the Word of YAH.
“The Bible says, Remember that thou keep holy the Sabbath day. The Catholic church says, No! By my divine power I abolish the Sabbath day, and command you to keep the first day of the week. And lo, the entire civilized world bows down in reverent obedience to the command of the holy Catholic church!” (Fr Enright, C.S.S.R. History of the Sabbath, p. 802)
YAH commands us to Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy and that we should keep it as a sign between us and YAHUAH, yet Rome said, No, The sabbath is not important, observe Sunday instead and everyone just does it?
This reminds me of the prophecy in Daniel 7 concerning the fourth beast.
"He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, and Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time."
We need to spend a little time in the book of Daniel, to learn more about this “fourth beast”?
We should start with the interpretation given to Daniel of Nebechanezzar’s dream.
"This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king. "
"Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the Elohim of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold."
"And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth."
"And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
And in the days of these kings shall the Elohim of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. "
"Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great Elohim hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure."
To understand Daniel 2 we should also look at Daniel's dream in Daniel chapter 7:3-8
Daniel 7:3-8 "And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings:"
"I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it."
"And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh."
"After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it."
"After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns."
"I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things."
Babylon "The 1st Beast"
History tells us that the Babylonian empire's reign ended in 531 BC. The Babylonian Empire’s symbol was a Lion. Babylon, according to the interpretation of Nebechanezzar’s dream was as is gold unmatched in its splendor. Also per the prophecy another kingdom inferior to Babylon did arise.
Medo-Persia "The 2nd Beast"
This Empire ruled from 539-311 BC. The First mention of the Medes in Scripture is found in Isaiah when he declared 175 years before it was fulfilled,
“Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it”
Jeremiah also prophesied that the Medes will be used of YAH to destroy Babylon:
“Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: YHWH hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of YHWH, the vengeance of his temple”
Thus long before Babylon fell it was prophesied that the Medes would be YAH’s avenging instrument. It was given unto Daniel; however, to give the Medes and the Persians their proper place in future history.
The Medes and the Persians
“And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee.”
The chest and arms of silver in the image of Daniel foretell the joining kingdoms of the Medes and the Persians. More detail is given in the vision of Daniel recorded in 7:5 where Daniel describes the second beast in these words,
“And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.”
The kingdom of the Medes and the Persians is described as a bear which raises itself on one side is likely referring to Persia being greater than Media, The exhortation to “Arise, devour much flesh,” is encouragement to the new empire to expand as it did in its conquests.
The Medo-Persian empire did; in fact, subdue the earth, like a bear, with its massive army. The three ribs in its mouth is also significant because Medo-Persia conquered three kingdoms to obtain its rule; Libya, Babylon, and Egypt.
Also, In Daniel 8:20 as Gabriel interprets a dream to Daniel the Medes and Persians are called out by name. "The two-horned ram that you saw represents the kings of Media and Persia."
"The 3rd Beast" Greece, lead by “Alexander, the Great”
This Empire ruled from 311-168 BC
"Next, as I watched, another beast appeared. It was like a leopard, and on its back it had four wings like those of a bird. The beast also had four heads, and it was given authority to rule.”
The belly and waist of brass was the Grecian empire. Greece, with its bronze armor was like a leopard, who is smaller than a lion or a bear.
The four wings on its back give us a picture of the swiftness of Alexander's conquests. Alexander is said to have led an unprecedented military campaign through western Asia and northeast Africa. By the age of thirty, Alexander had conquered much of the known world. Historians disagree on exactly how much Alexander and his troops were outnumbered, however in most cases we see Alexander being outnumbered anywhere from 50,000 to 1000,00 or more troops in various battles. Alexander had one of the largest empires of the ancient world, stretching from Greece to northwestern India.
The leopard had 4 heads as Alexander had 4 generals, who split his kingdom into fours after his death.
Also, Daniel calls out Greece by name as the vision was interpreted to Daniel by Gabriel.
"The shaggy goat represents the king of Greece, and the large horn between his eyes is the first king. The four horns that replaced the broken one represent four kingdoms that will rise from that nation, but will not have the same power."
YAH’s Word is amazing. I am continuously amazed by the Truth’s that can be found when we dig for answers. With perfect accuracy YAH reveals to his servants, the prophets, what He plans to do.
The book of Daniel was written in the 6th century BC. Skeptics of this writing tried to discredit Daniel by placing the date of it’s writing at a later time but archaeological discoveries, such as the dating of the “Dead Sea Scrolls” helps to prove that Daniel was indeed written at the time that Scripture tells us. Every piece of this prophecy has come to pass with the exception of the last part which will indeed come to pass just as Scripture says. More on that after we discuss the fourth beast.
"The 4th Beast" Rome and the rising world
"And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and subdues all things: and as iron that breaks all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. And whereas thou saw the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou saw the iron mixed with miry clay. In Daniel 8:23-25 as Daniel's vision is being interpreted by Gabriel, we learn a little more about this fourth beast: "In the latter part of their reign, when the rebellion has reached its full measure, an insolent king, skilled in intrigue, will come to the throne. His power will be great, but it will not be his own. He will cause terrible destruction and succeed in whatever he does. He will destroy the mighty men along with the holy people. Through his craft and by his hand, he will cause deceit to prosper, and in his own mind he will make himself great. In a time of peace he will destroy many, and he will even stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be broken off, but not by human hands."
Rome is indeed a diverse kingdom and a beast that rises from the sea; who is diverse from the first, is a fitting picture of this beast. We learn that his form is dreadful and terrible; that he has iron teeth and horns. The Roman empire with its iron armor did indeed break and smash the kingdoms it subdued.
The ten horns likely represent the 10 distinct kingdoms of Rome.

The Visigoths (Spain)
The Anglo Saxons (English)
The Ostrogoths
The Lombards (Italy)
The Heruli
The 11th horn that rose and plucked up three horns by their root is likely a description of the papacy’s rise.
When the papacy rose to power it destroyed three kingdoms to obtain its power.
The Vandals in 493 AD
The Ostrogoths 534 AD
The Heruli 538 AD
The papacy rose to power in 538 AD and Reigned until Napoleon conquered in 1798 AD.
Rome was not smashed out of existence or completely removed from its influence throughout the world. In fact; none of the previous reigning empire’s influences have been completely removed, we see Greek influence within the very culture of the education system. We see Babylonian similarities in military campaigning, and cultural renaissance throughout the world, especially in those who always desire more luxury and more freedom to act in whichever way they choose.
We can see the hands of Rome and the hands of the Papacy in many political and religious affairs. Right here in America we can see Roman ideology in our religious and political policies. For instance, protestant Christians keep the sabbath day that was sanctified by the Roman Catholic Church, “Sunday”.. Our Government is a democratic republic and we have a Senate. There are many more examples of influence, however these are just a few that help to demonstrate their influence in today’s society.
The deadly wound healed.
"And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. "
In 1929 the Lateran Treaty was signed. This treaty made the Vatican its own Nation and the Pope it’s King.
"And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goes into perdition."
History tells us that Rome has been ruled by 7 different “Heads” of Governments.
Kings
Republic (elected officials)
Decemviri (10 Men)
Triumvirate (Counsel of 3)
Dictators
Emperors (Ruling government at the time that this prophecy was written in Revelation.) (ONE IS)
Popes (one yet to come)
Since the 1929 Lateran Treaty it is interesting that the current Pope is the 8th and is of the 7.
"He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time."
The Roman papacy has indeed spoken pompous words against the Most High. They have persecuted the saints of the Most High and have tried to change the times and laws established by the Most High YAH.

Changing times
We reviewed, at the beginning of this study, the ways that Rome changed the institution of the Sabbath day. Rome also changed our calendar to the Gregorian calendar in 1852 AD. It was a reform of the Julian Calendar which was the first calendar change by Rome in 45 BC.
Changing Laws
Rome is guilty of attempting to change the commands of YAH. The Catholic Church completely removed the second command regarding idol worship. Honestly, how could they keep it when their religion is literally covered with idols and idol worship.
In an effort to make it seem like the Catholic Church has the same 10 commandments from the Scripture they split commandment 10 into commandments 9 and 10.
This fourth beast has certainly thrown truth to the ground and through cunning and deceptive tactics it has surely deceived the nations.
Many people already worship this beast and its image.
Revelation 13: 1-2
"And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority."
The 4 Beasts in Daniel are combined together into 1 massive beast in Revelation just as in these end times when a “New World Order” shall arise and combine the kingdoms of the world under the same mission.
It is interesting that the beast in Revelation is a combination of all the kingdoms that have risen since Daniel’s prophecy and according to scripture this fourth beast who ruled during the time of the Messiah will scatter the holy people and trample the holy city until the times of the gentiles are fulfilled.
Luke 21:24
"And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled."
The Beast out of the Sea
"The dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was filled with wonder and followed the beast. People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can wage war against it?” The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months. It opened its mouth to blaspheme YHWH, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. It was given power to wage war against YAH's holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world."
The mark is coming and the kingdom’s of this world will encourage the acceptance of such a mark.
"This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of YAH's people."
The Beast out of the Earth
"Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon. It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name."
I am not sure what the mark of the beast is, but I am searching. I seek and ask to have my eyes open to this mark when the time comes. Whether the mark is a gene altering vaccine, a microchip, or some other form of beast currency; one thing is for sure we will not be able to buy or sell unless we have the mark. I may not know what the mark of the beast is just yet but scripture tells us what YAHUAH’s mark is and I plan to hold onto it with my life.
"Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. "
"Keep My Sabbaths holy, and they will be a sign between us, so that you may know that I am YHWH your ELOHIM."
We ask again, is the Sabbath important?
Yes, especially if you wish to be marked by YAHUAH instead of the beast. In the end, we know who will win this war.
"And in the days of these kings shall the Elohim of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Forasmuch as thou saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great Elohim hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure."
"I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from YHWH out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of YHWH is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and ELOHIM himself shall be with them, and be their ELOHIM. And YHWH shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
